This birthday card is an example of what I like to call a KISS & SIP card! Keep It Simple Stampin' with Stamps, Ink, and Paper. Not a lot of layers, techniques, or extras, just simple stamping with the most basic of paper crafting supplies.
I began designing this card by choosing a Designer Series Paper with a small, simple pattern and limited color palette. This DSP would serve as the background that I would stamp Happy Birthday on. It's not often that I stamp directly on DSP, but it works when using it in this way.
The Stylized Birthday stamp is one of my favorite a la carte stamps Stampin' Up! has ever sold. If you need a birthday stamp and don't have this one, I highly suggest you purchase it. You won't regret it. I use it lots and lots and it's very popular with my customers as well.
I did go beyond SIP a bit by adding a few sequins to the card front for a more festive look to my birthday card.
