There are so many ways to draw extra attention to the focal point of your card to make it really stand out. Today, I’ll show you one of those ways!
In the video below, I’ll show you how to use the Everyday Arches Dies (or other nesting dies) to create a die cut space for your the focal point of your card. In this case, I stamped, colored, and die cut Piglet and Pooh with the Sweet Old Friends Bundle to use as my focal point. The sentiment “Welcome Cutie” is from the Woolly Friends Stamp Set.
I think you’re going to love this card layout and its extra attention grabbing die cut space! And I think that you’ll find the tips I give in the video extra helpful.
So enjoy the video demonstration below, then give this layout a try today!
Dimensions for Sweet Old Friends card above:
- Card base = 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold in half
- Two-Tone card stock for inside card (I used light shade.) = 4″ x 5 1/4″
- DSP layer on front = 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Card stock for sentiment = scrap

Cards above were made with Woolly Friends Stamp Set & Punch in Hydrangea Hue and Barely Blush.
I love how these baby cards turned out. I think each one is as cute as the next!
I hope this post provides with inspiration and tips to create cards using the same or similar card layout with dies to draw extra attention to your card’s focal point and add an extra element of interest to your handmade card.
Wishing you peace, joy, and happy stamping.
