The Shadow Blocking Technique is certainly a winner for making stunning cards! I’ll give you all the measurements you need and some helpful tips to make Shadow Blocking cards of your own. Watch then give this amazing technique a try!
I’m using Delicate Dreams Designer Series Paper and a sentiment from Sending Salutations Stamp Set in my demonstration of the Shadow Blocking Technique. You can, however, use any Designer Series Paper or Patterned Paper of your own. Even paper with scenes will work with the Shadow Blocking Technique.
So watch and enjoy, then make some Shadow Blocking cards of your own. I can’t wait to see what you create!


Dimensions for Shadow Blocking Card above:
- Card base = 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ on long side, fold in half.
- Basic White inside card = 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Card stock layer on front = 4″ x 5 1/4″
- DSP squares = 3″ x 4″, then cut into 1″ squares as shown in video
- Card stock squares = 3″ x 4″, then cut into 1″ squares
