The beautiful snowfall we had in central Ohio this past week, really put me in a fun mood. I was recalling snow days growing up and then memories made on snow days with my own daughters. I liked to refer to snow days from school as "drop everything and play days". And that is exactly how this recent snow fall made me feel. I literally wanted to drop everything I needed to do and just play. But work calls and that was just not possible, and I didn't have any kids around to build a snowman or make snow angels with. BUT…I stayed very focused and driven from early morning 'til late morning, then bundled up and put my snow boots on to take myself on a walk around my neighborhood for a break from my many tasks of the day. That was the best bit of self-care I made time for all week. I looked around on my walk at just took in the beauty of the beautiful snowfall – the sites of snow on the tree branches, the sound of the crunching snow under my boots, and the feel of the cold, fresh air on my face. I felt energized and filled with joy. I snapped a few pictures along my walk. And so as the week went on and the snow melted and I took a look at those pictures, I decided I need to make a scrapbook layout of this first of December snowfall. So why not use that as a Facebook Live, right? In the following video replay of my December 2nd Facebook Live, you'll see my demonstration of my 2-page scrapbook layout. I tore card stock for snow hills, die cut stitched triangles for pine trees, and added some cute critters from the Freezin' Fun Bundle. I hope you enjoy the demonstration and feel inspired to preserve some of your recent memories too. Sometimes it just feels good to take in life's simple pleasures and just be in the moment, and then to reflect on their meaning and capture the memory. After all, sometimes it's the little things that really are the big things, so why not capture those memories too.
Oops…do you see a mistake in the photo above???
I forgot to color my raccoon. I'll be pulling out my Stampin' Blends to take care of that after I get this blog post out.
The Freezin' Fun critters are SO FUN to create with. They will be retiring so get them ASAP as all retiring holiday products will be available while supplies last only beginning Tuesday, December 8th.
This is the view of my backyard & patio I took in when I opened the window blind in my bedroom – a beautiful blanket of snow.
View of pond across the street taken from my front porch.
Do you recognize me all bundled up? This knee-length Columbia jacket is worth every penny I paid for it. Keeps me warm during my cold, windy winter walks.
View of the pond at the back of my neighborhood – home to lots of geese and a few ducks.
I love the look of snow covered trees.
And now, it's time for me to dream of a white Christmas!
