Sunday, I returned from Orlando, FL, after attending Stampin' Up! OnStage 2018. I was traveling with and meeting up with 15 other team members including 2 uplines, one I had never met, and 8 of my own team members. We had set up a private Facebook Group prior to traveling where we could post information and share photos. I challenged all of us to take a few of their own hand stamped cards and give them away to random people on our travels and share what happened as a result. This is my challenge story.
I arrived at the Orlando airport very early Sunday morning after a wonderful week of gathering, sharing, and learning with my Stampin' Up! family. Over 6,000 demonstrators from around the globe were there plus SU! corporate team members and staff and all the people behind the scenes who are responsible for putting this event together. After getting through TSA, I was in a long line at Starbuck's ('Tis the Season for Peppermint Mocha). As I waited, I was thinking and reflecting on the week I had and feeling grateful and blessed. What a blessing Stampin' Up! has been in my life. I've been able to work for a financially strong company doing something I really love…creating and sharing it. I've had the opportunity to earn free products, cash bonuses, and even trips, again doing what I love…stamping and scrapbooking and sharing it with others. I've found a job that isn't just fun, but has given me a new purpose and a means for making a difference in other people's lives. I've learned how to be a business woman and now have the confidence to do that. I've met people from my own community, my state, my nation, and my world. We've become friends and family and choose to support each other in business and in life. All of these blessings started with 3 things…Stamps, Ink, and Paper.
I took the opportunity to share my love of Stampin' Up! with the woman behind me. I told the woman I would like to buy her her breakfast as a Random Act of Kindness. I also asked her to do me a favor and pay it forward using a hand stamped card I had made. It gave me a chance to tell her about Stampin' Up! and what I do. She shared with me that earlier that morning, she read a Facebook post by an older gentleman asking people to spread kindness instead of hate and gave examples of small kindnesses that EVERYONE can do to make the world a better, more peaceful and happy place for all. This sweet lady asked my name and agreed to a selfie to share with my story.
So let's come together using our love of Stampin' Up! and paper crafting to give and send handmade cards and spread kindness in any way we can.
