Day 4 Adventures, Holiday Sneak Peek, & Swap Card

Day 4, the cruise ship docked in Skagway. We had another beautiful day for our excursions. We began at Alaska 360 where We learned about the Iditarod, Alaskan Huskies; how they are trained and cared for before, during, and after the race; what it takes to participate in the Iditarod and the driver/guides days and nights while running the race. We got to meet the dogs and see a training run and even help puppies who will one day train to race. There was so much to learn and take in and our hosts were wonderful.

Best part of SU! events is reuniting with demo friends and making new friends. It was a joy to get to know Karen Ross and her daughter Melissa Male. Both are SU! demonstrators from New Zealand.

Next, we took a train ride through the White Pass Trail, took in amazing landscape and scenery, and learned a bit about the Gold Rush. If I had to describe the scenery in just one word, that word would be 'majestic'. So very beautiful.

The town of Skagway is small and quaint but rich in history.

This is one of the locomotives used during Gold Rush times. The track was only 36" wide.

This train car is used to remove snow from the train tracks.

Our day ended with dinner, trivia, and a show on the ship. A fun-filled day with another surprise waiting for me in our cabin. My Day 4 Pillow Gift was a beautiful 'Night of Navy' knit throw with leather Stampin' Up! logo sewn on and All is Bright Paper Clips featured in 2018 Holiday Catalog which goes live September 5th.
