Background Stamps. They sure can be intimidating simply by virtue of their size. They are bulky and hard to hold, I know, but in this video I show you to simple ways to add ink to these large stamps. Plus, I introduce you to 2 ways to add multiple colors to your background stamps for maximum WOW factor!
In this demonstration, I feature the Etched Autumn Background Stamp and a sentiment from the Artistic Leaves Stamp Set both by Stampin’ Up! and available to order at the time of this recording at StampinPeace.com/shopsu.
The techniques I show you can be applied to any of your favorite background stamps or other large, difficult-to-hold stamps. Enjoy this video, then make a few cards using these techniques with your background stamps.
Dimensions for Etched Autumn Cards shown:
- Card base = 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ on long side, fold in half.
- Very Vanilla inside = 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Very Vanilla for stamping = 3 3/4″ x 5″
- Gold Foil layer = 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″

My goal for this video and post is that you feel more confident in using Background Stamps and other large, difficult-to-hold stamps and to introduce you to various inking techniques to use with them. I’d love to see what you create with your background stamps. And if you’re in the mood for creating beautiful fall cards, consider adding the Etched Autumn and Artistic Leaves Stamp Sets to your next order.
Please contact me with questions or for assistance at any time. I look forward to serving you.
Wishing you peace, joy, and happy stamping.
