Make Your Own Pretty Paper!

You know I love pretty papers, and Stampin’ Up! has so many amazing choices of Designer Series Paper. Did you know YOU can make your own pretty papers. You sure can! It’s simple using stamps and ink pad colors of your choice. In this card making video, I use the Autumn to Remember Stamp Set and Very Vanilla card stock to stamp on. My ink pad colors are Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Wild Wheat, and Early Espresso.

You decide how many colors you want to use based on the stamp set you are using and the look you want to achieve. Perhaps, you want a monochromatic look and use just one color (Old Olive) or perhaps several shades of the same basic color (Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow). Or you can choose several different colors as I did in this “Stamp Your Own Paper” demonstration.

Dimensions for Bountiful Blessings Cards above:

  • Card base = 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ on long side, fold in half.
  • Very Vanilla inside = 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Very Vanilla for sentiment = 4″ x 1 1/2″
  • Card stock behind sentiment = 4″ x 1 3/4″
  • Very Vanilla for stamping leaves = start with 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of card stock, stamp, then cut into 4 pieces measuring 5 1/4″ x 4″.

I used the same stamping technique for the cards below but changed the direction of the cards, swapped out the Old Olive card stock for Cajun Craze for the card bases and Gold Foil Paper behind the sentiments, and used Earth Tones Shimmer Gems as my embellishment rather than the Linen Thread bows. As you can see, a few simple changes makes an entirely new set of cards.

Today was a beautiful autumn day in central Ohio with a cool start to the day and a warm, sunny afternoon. I hope wherever you are, you were able to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine.

I hope you will join me in praying for and keeping good thoughts for the many people affected by Hurricane Helene. What a difficult time for them.

Thanks for being a part of my StampinPeace.com community. YOU are the reason I do what I do.

Wishing you peace, joy, and happy stamping,

Mary Knabe
