40 Cards in 40 Days + an Easy One Sheet Wonder

The season of Lent began yesterday, February 14th. I got to thinking about my dad yesterday as he used to say, “It’s not just about sacrificing or giving up something. Think about something positive you can DO also.”

So…here’s what I’m working on during the 40 Days of Lent:

  • Giving up pop/soda
  • Devoting 40 minutes/day to quiet self-care – to reflect, pray, meditate, slow down, or to “just be” and reflect on my blessings
  • Sending 40 cards (or more) in 40 Days

Each of the 40 days of Lent, I’ll be posting a card I’m sending on that day on my FB Page Stampin’ Peace with Mary Knabe. I invite you to join me in my 40 Cards in 40 Days. You can make a new card or pull one from your stash. It doesn’t matter. The goal here is to spread kindness. I’d love for you to post your cards there also as this will encourage others to spread kindness with our craft.

You don’t have to be observing Lent to participate. I’m not pushing religion. I hope you’ll join me in my 4o Cards in 4o Days Challenge.

My Card sent for Day 1 of 40 Cards in 40 Days:

The card above is just one I made using one of my favorite easy 12″ x 12″ One Sheet Wonders. I’ve attached a PDF of this One Sheet Wonder Template and the 3 coordinating Card Sketches for you, so be sure to download and/or print it for your future use.

Stampin’ Up! products featured in this set of cards are Quiet Reflection Stamp Set, Most Adored Specialty DSP, Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad, Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Brushed Brass Butterflies

Be sure to check out the video below where I demonstrate how to cut the 12″ x 12″ One Sheet Wonder above, make up some of the coordinating cards, AND share the SPOTLIGHT TECHNIQUE.

The card below shows a slight variation of the cards above. We created a “frame’ around the punched circle by using a 2″ punch to cut a ring from the DSP rectangle after punching the 1 3/4” circle. This was demonstrated in the video above! Be sure to check it out if you haven’t already.

WOW! Now that is a lot of cards! I’ll sending a few of these now and putting the rest in my card stash for future use! I hope you feel inspired to make 11 cards today with my EASY One Sheet Wonder and 3 coordinating Card Sketches. The possibilities are endless when you mix and match your Stampin’ Up! colors, Designer Series Papers, stamps, and embellishments. Enjoy the process!

Wishing you peace, joy, and happy stamping,

Mary Knabe

  1. Mary,
I love your post and even more your reverence and comments of the Lenten season. So many if your childhood thoughts are like my childhood thoughts regarding Lenten sacrifices and offerings of love and time to others.
I am going to attempt sending one card each of these 40 days as well.
You are an AaaaaahMazing person dear Mary. I hope you are feeling better and back to your regular routine again. Hugs.

  2. Absolutely in love with this idea and plan to share with other “card makers” . I can’t wait to share this message with my Sunday School Class – I sent tons of cards out during covid so there’s really no reason to slow it down! Have a blessed day!
