Today, we’re going back to the basics of our craft. You may have heard me refer to KISS & SIP classes or demonstrations in the past. KISS & SIP stands for Keep It Simple Stamping with Stamps, Ink, and Paper. That is what you’ll see in this replay of a recent Facebook Live. I demonstrate the simple stamping technique while making 3 cards of the same layout and with the same stamp set, Playing in the Rain. I think you’ll be amazed at what cute cards are made with these basic supplies. The next time you have a chance to stamp, I hope you’ll give the KISS & SIP technique a try.
New stampers will enjoy the Simple Stamping technique for its ease and use of limited supplies. Seasoned stampers may enjoy using this Simple Stamping technique when in need of several cards or when they want to build their card stash, and sometimes just for the care-free stamping fun.
My Simple Stamping Demonstration:
Cutting Dimensions for Playing in the Rain Cards:
- Card base = 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ on long side, fold in half.
- Basic White inside card = 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Basic White for stamping = 4 1/8″ x 2 7/8″
- Basic Black layer = 4 1/4″ x 3″
NOTE: The only difference between the set of 3 cards above and the set of 3 cards below is that each of the animals on the cards below were stamped and colored on Basic White scraps, then die cut and adhered to card fronts,.

This blog really hit home for me. It seems that I am overwhelmed lately with all the new fun folds. Don’t get me wrong, I love learning new folds. But, sometimes I just need to get back to clean and simple. I need to find ME again.
It also seems that once you send out all the new fun folds, people that you send to, expect it.
I need to go back to the simpler times.
Thank you, Mary for this. It meant the world to me! 💕❤️💕
I often feel like you do, Kathy. I love learning new techniques and fun folds but often go back to more simple cards. Sometimes less is more, especially when I want to make lots of cards to fill my stash or for a particular occasion. Thanks for your positive feedback and kind words. I hope you’ll subscribe to stampinpeace.com and return to this site often for more creative inspiration and project ideas. Happy Stamping! PS…your comment meant the world to me too!
