I found this little piece of home decor at the Dollar Store. I purchased it with the intent to reuse the frame and came up with a quick and easy St. Patrick's Day decoration. I love how it turned out. It took very little time, used only a handful of products, and cost next to nothing to make. AND it's quite cute! My photos walk you through the process from Dollar Store find to cut holiday decoration.
Cut a 6" x 6" sheet of Garden Green Designer Series Paper into 2" strips. Punch out 3 hearts from each strips. Be sure to "flip" DSP between punches to maximize your DSP. You will use all 9 hearts punched to make the shamrock.
Punch a stem for your Shamrock from a scrap of the DSP as shown in photo below.
Now, let's fold 6 of the 9 hearts in half and then layer and adhere 2 folded hearts to a flat heart by applying glue down along the folds only.
I arranged the 3D hearts and stem into the shape of a shamrock and adhered them to 4" square piece of Gold Foil. I adhered Garden Green card stock to the inside of the frame, then adhered the shamrock on gold foil to it. A fun and festive little piece of home decor just in time for St. Patrick's Day from my Dollar Store find.
