The 4th of July, also known as Independence Day in the USA , is a day spent celebrating our nation and the many freedoms we enjoy as Americans. Picnics, parties, BBQ's, parades, and fireworks displays are some of the ways we celebrate. My card below is fitting for our celebrating the 4th of July. Fireworks displays are always my first thought when I think about celebrating the 4th. What great memories I have of our family piling into the station wagon and Dad driving us to watch the fireworks at Great Northern Mall and the many times Peter and I took our own children to watch fireworks in the different communities we lived. I still love to go watch fireworks light up the night sky in celebration of our country's freedom.
While I made this card to celebrate America's Independence day, I think it would do well as a graduation card in one's school colors. It could also serve as a birthday or retirement card or any other cause for celebration. Just use colors to fit your occasion or recipient. Or consider sending your favorite college students a card in their collegiate colors celebrating their achievements.
This card also shows the versatility of our Stampin' Up! products as the fireworks were made with 2 stamps from the Garden Wishes Stamp Set. It's so fun to see the creativity that comes as a result of stampers "thinking outside the box". Who would have thought a dandelion could be used to stamp a fireworks display? I love it! Every time I discover that a stamp set or punch or die can be used in a way different than its intended purpose, I'm happy that I use Stampin' Up! products and belong to such clever group of crafters willing to share their creativity with others. Plus, it makes me feel that I am getting even more for my money, and that's always a good thing!

The following photos show you the steps I used the dandelion bloom only without stem for it to stamp fireworks.
Step 1: Adhere top of stamp to clear block. Use Washi Tape to cover the stem.
(Sticky note may also work, but I find Washi Tape easier to work with for this technique.)
Step 2: Ink up the dandelion bloom in a corner of the Real Red ink pad. (Use corner of ink pad only to avoid getting ink on other parts of red rubber below the Washi Tape.)
Step 3: Remove Washi Tape and stamp on Basic White card stock. Repeat steps 1-3 several times to stamp red fireworks.
