True Love Designer Series Paper from the new Love You Always Suite in our 2021 Jan-Jun Mini Catalog makes it easy to create fun black & white cards with pops of color. While the Love You Always Suite does include images & sentiments for Valentine cards, it is also very versatile. This suite makes beautiful cards for anniversaries, bridal showers, engagements, and weddings and simply to tell people they are loved. AND, while the black & white True Love Designer Series Paper can make beautiful feminine cards with its many floral images, it's also great for making masculine using the geometric patterns sides of the paper.
So take a look now at my December 30th Stampin' Peace with Mary Knabe Facebook Live card making demonstration. I show you 2 ways to design cards using 4" x 6" pieces of your new favorite Designer Series Papers. You'll also get lots of ideas to add various pops of color to the black & white True Love Designer Series Paper for one-of-a-kind cards to bring love and smiles to those receiving your lovely cards.
The first 3 cards here show you how I used pieces of 4" x 6" DSP, cut down to 4" x 5 1/4" by cutting off 3/4" on one short side. But don't get rid of those 3/4" strips as you can use them on your cards as shown in my video demonstration above and photos below.
I began adding pops of color to the following card by coloring with Stampin' Blends in Rococo Rose and Old Olive. Notice how I used the 3/4" strip of DSP on the inside of the card.
Mixing and matching the fabulous sentiments and dies of the Forever & Always Bundle makes creating one-of-a-kind cards for special occasions so easy. How about that new Heart Charm embellishment as an accent on this card? I love it.
Utilize your strips of Designer Series Paper to add interest to the inside of your cards!
Ribbon and card stock in Just jade adds a simple touch of color to this pretty black & white card. Notice how I used the 3/4" strip of Designer Series Paper I cut off of the original 4" x 6" piece. Flip the DSP strip over for added detail.
Take a look at the gorgeous details in the DSP and dies used on this card.
Using Magenta Madness adds a BIG POP of color on the following black & white True Love card.
Magenta Madness sure makes a statement against the black & white.
A bow tied with Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon is a fun accent for this card.
In the following 3 cards, I started with 4" x 6" pieces of True Love Designer Series Paper with the geometric side up. Instead of cutting off a 3/4" strip, I actually tore the paper approximately 1 1/2" from one short side. TIP: When I tear DSP or card stock, I prefer to hold it so that I tear towards me from top to bottom. In other words, I turned my DSP in a horizontal position, held it along the top with my left hand, placed my right thumb and index finger at top approximately 1 1/2" from the right side and pulled the paper toward my body. I feel like I have control of the paper as I'm tearing when I do it this way.
I added pops of color to this card with Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends. I love the exposed torn edge of this card too.
I added several pops of color with Sponge Daubers and ink pads.
Isn't this a great sentiment for a card for a special friend??? I love it!!!
Bumblebee Ribbon against the black and white DSP really pops!
This beautiful and glimmery Blushing Bride Ribbon adds a more elegant touch of color to this black and white card.
