'Tis the Season to be making your own Christmas cards, and I can offer you a little help with my latest Make It With Mary Monday Facebook Live video replay. The following demonstration features 2 different cards, each made with the same dimensions for the card stock and Designer Series Paper pieces. As you can see, though, I've chosen different colors based on the different patterns I chose in the "Tis the Season Designer Series Paper Pack. If you like to have a variety of small prints and patterns in your paper, this 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Pack is for you. The Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set is a great addition to any stamp collection as it provides so many different sentiment for the holiday season that also coordinate with a variety of punches.
Here are the cutting dimensions I gave for my September 21st Make It With Mary Facebook Live:
- card base = 4 1/4" x 11 1/2", score at 5 1/2" on long side and fold in half
- inside of card = First layer is 4" x 5 1/4". Second layer is 3 3/4" x 5".
- DSP front of card = 4" x 5 1/4"
- card stock strip = 1 3/4" x 5 1/4"
- 2 DSP squares = 2" x 2"
- 2 card stock squares = 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
I hope you enjoy this video and feel inspired to make some of these cards too.
Here are my 2 different cards side by side.
There are so many wonderful patterns and images in the 'Tis the Season Designer Series Paper it makes it hard to choose. Fortunately, with these cards I use 3 different ones.
This up close view makes it easy to see all the different elements and details of this card that make it fun and interesting.
I decide to layer my Whisper White card stock on top of Real Red card stock for the inside of this card, still plenty of room to stamp and image or sentiment and write a personal message.
My second card using the 'Tis the Season DSP with all the same cutting dimensions as the first card but with different papers and card stock colors and a different layout.
There are lots of festive details on this card also.
