Another Creative Escape Weekend in the Books

The first weekend in October, I hosted another Autumn Creative Escape Weekend, although, it didn't feel like Autumn at all with temperatures in the high 80's in Cincinnati. Once again, we had a full house, and boy was it fun! The weekend included lots of fun, laughs, visiting with friends, meeting new people, yummy dinners and lots of sweet treats, Stampin' Up! goodies, and, of course, lots and lots of crafting. I saw card making, scrapbooking, sewing, jewelry making, and more. It's always fun to walk around and see the creative projects of my guests.

My customers and I like to put the 'fun' in fundraising at these Creative Escape Weekends. It has become tradition that a charity raffle is held for a specific charity or cause at each of my weekend events. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is the recipient of this year's fall fundraising. Guests donated items and purchased tickets. We had a record number of 59 prizes donated. Yes, 59 items were donated by 45 women. Guests also purchased tickets, and together we raised $2,216.00 for St. Jude's. I am so proud to be able to use my work as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and passion for paper crafting to raise money to help others in need. I'm so blessed to have so many people join me in doing so.

Below are a few of the winners of some wonderful raffle prizes. I'm amazed at the generosity of my crafting friends and am so pleased to be mailing $2,216.00 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I never get tired of helping others in need.

I have to give a shout out to my dear, dear friends and fabulous helpers, Tracy Dahling, Jackie Mayer, Debby Price, Ramona Parella, and Rosie Janis. They are always quick to help me with set up, clean up, raffle prizes, stuff goodie bags, baking treats, and anything else I ask of them (and even a fews things I don't ask of them). I just had to take this picture as it looked like Santa's workshop as we were sorting make-n-take materials and Stampin' Up! products for 48 gift bags. We missed having Rosie with us at the event this time as she was home recovering from surgery. But we checked on her, and she checked on us throughout the weekend.IMG_8539
