Another Creative Escape Weekend is in the books! What fun I have hosting these events. I'm grateful for the wonderful venue, delicious food, and creative energy we enjoyed. The best part of the weekend, though, was sharing laughter, fun, and creative ideas with friends new and old.
It has become a tradition at each of my Creative Escape Weekends to host a charity raffle. The charity we help is often based on a personal story of one of our attendees. This one was no different. We surprised one of our new attendees by raising funds for the Ovarian Cancer Society of Greater CIncinnati in her honor. I loved getting to know Diana Nease and appreciate her sharing her 3 year journey of battling ovarian cancer with me and others. I could tell Diana was very moved by and appreciative of all of this. I hope she is inspired to keep fighting the fight knowing so many people support her.
The charity raffle was definitely the highlight of my weekend. Guests donated more than 25 items to be raffled Saturday night. The 19 of us raised $850. I am in awe of the generosity of these women and so many crafters I have gotten to know over the years of doing these charity raffles at my Creative Escape Weekends. We DO make a difference!
