If you haven't seen my post and the awesome video of my Stampin' for Starr fundraising event, please take a look at it on my September 19th blog post. I am happy and very proud to report that with the help of great friends and supporters, $3333.00 was raised in memory of my dear friend and talented stamper, Starr Fitch, who died unexpectedly earlier this year. The money raised was the result of selling Starr's Stampin' Up! products, craft supplies, baking supplies, and cookbooks. All money raised is being donated to the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, Starr's favorite charity as she was a very proud and grateful 7 year ovarian cancer survivor.
Of course, we had to do some stamping at the event as that is what brought Starr and I together and made us friends. Each shopper could make these two free make-n-take cards. I chose the stamp sets Sweet Cupcake (AC pg. 23) and Beautiful Ride (retired) to use for very particular reasons. The first reason was Starr was a fabulous baker making wedding cakes and cupcakes for all her sons' weddings and for special friends. It became tradition that Starr's cupcakes were served at my Open House events in June and December of each year. She never disappointed and always went above and beyond to make them special and coordinate with my theme. She had a wide variety of flavors, and the cupcakes were always beautifully decorated and often packaged to go. The Beautiful Ride stamp set was used because Starr was very active in a Volkswagon Club. One of her greatest accomplishments was completely restoring a VW convertible when she was undergoing treatment for Ovarian Cancer many years ago. How inspiring is that!
I hope you enjoy these cards as they were designed special meaning and loving thoughts of my forever friend, Starr Fitch.
