The Stamping with Friends Blog Hop Challenge for today was to create a Slimline Card. I decided to use the Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set and coordinating Strawberry Builder Punch - perfect for a summer birthday card that also serves as a gift card holder.
This photo shows the inside of my Slimline Birthday card/gift card holder.
I used the Label Me Lovely Punch to cut out a small area of the buffalo check DSP to show where to insert and pull out a gift card.

I can't get enough of making Fun Fold Cards. So much so that I committed to "Fun Fold Friday Facebook Lives". This is one of my favorite. So often, people are intimidated by Fun Fold Cards. I can understand when it comes to ones with multiple folds in one cards. BUT, let me tell you, MOST Fun Fold Cards are much easier to make than you think. That's why I love them, and that's why I love sharing them with all my Stampin' Peace followers!
The Fun Fold Card I show in this video demonstration features the incredible Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper. This beautiful DSP can be used year round and for so many different reasons and occasions for sending your handmade cards.
FYI...There is no imperfection on my leaves stamp. I discovered that there was a tiny air bubble between my stamp and the clear block. So I pulled my stamp off the clear acrylic block and reset it. All good stamping after that. A great little tidbit to remember.
Night of Navy Card Base = 5 1/2" x 7", score at 4 1/4" on LONG side, fold so flap is on front left.
Basic White for inside card = 5 1/4" x 4"
Night of Navy = 3 3/4" x 3", score at 1/2" on SHORT side.
Beauty of the Earth DSP or white card stock for stamping = 3 1/2" x 2 3/8"
I used Cajun Craze Dark Stampin' Blends marker to color the white twine to better compliment my card.
A Blending Brush was used to add a subtle sky behind the tree.
The Tailor Made Tag Dies work wonderfully for creating a means of a closure for this fun fold card.

I thought I'd take the opportunity to share a project featuring a brand new suite launching with our new Annual Catalog on May 4th - Beauty of the Earth - today in celebration of Earth Day. The Beauty of the Earth Suite includes the colorful Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set and coordinating Beautiful Trees Dies, Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper, Bark 3D Embossing Folders, and colorful Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper.
For today's post I made 8 slimline cards quickly and easily and with just 1 sheet of Designer Series Paper. You can too! Simply follow my cutting dimensions and assembly instructions below. Easy peasy, I guarantee it!
Card bases = Cut 8 measuring 7" x 8 1/2", score at 3 1/2" on short side, fold in half. (I cut 4 Night of Navy & 4 Merry Merlot.)
Basic White layer = Cut 16 measuring 3 1/4" x 8 1/4". (You'll use 2 per card - 1 on front & 1 inside.)
Card stock layer on front = Cut 8 measuring 3 1/8" x 8 1/8". (I cut 4 Night of Navy & 4 Merry Merlot from left over card stock that I had when I cut the card bases from my 8 1/2" x 11" sheets of card stock.)
Designer Series Paper = Use the Beauty of the Earth DSP with watercolor tree prints at the top and bottom of the paper with white space in the middle. Cut it at 6" (in half) through the white space. Then cut each of the two 6" x 12" pieces into 4 pieces measuring 3" x 6".
Wood Grain DSP (also from Beauty of the Earth DSP) = Cut 4 pieces measuring 2" x 3".
Directions for card above:
Stamp sentiment in Night of Navy ink on lower right corner of Merry Merlot Card stock.
Adhere Watercolor Trees DSP to top of Merry Merlot card stock.
Adhere Merry Merlot card stock to Basic White card stock.
Wrap Denim Ribbon around layers at bottom of DSP and tie bow. Trim ends.
Adhere layers to Night of Navy card base.
Adhere Basic White card stock to inside of card.
Die cut 2 Night of Navy birds and adhere to card front as shown using Glue Dot.

Today's blog post contains a video demonstration of a new variation on the Slimline Card. It's called a Double Split Slimline Card. With my video demonstration and directions, I hope you'll feel confident to try it on your own. My cards feature the bright, colorful, festive, and fun Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper with tips on getting the most out of it along with the coordinating dies. Enjoy!
These two cards use the same Double Split Slimline Card layout and same Trimming the Town DSP but look so different. I love the versatility of Stampin' Up! products to help me create one of a kind cards even with limited supplies.
The houses and pine tree were die cut from the Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper using the coordinating Home Together Dies.
I love using Stampin' Dimensionals to add more dimension and interest to my handmade cards. Who would have thought a few dimensionals would change the look of a card and take it to a new level.
Tear some Whisper White card stock and layer it to create snow-covered hills.
This card is so fun and festive and reminds me of my childhood when Dad would "flood" our backyard to make an ice rink for us. Such fun we had! We loved winters in Cleveland. Dad took us to the valley so sled a lot too. And he was a high school teacher so he loved snow days as much as we kids did.
The Adhesive-backed Snowflakes are the perfect embellishment for this card.
PS. The Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper is 15% off through October 31st along with 14 others.
