Gratitude = Happiness

My mother was a stickler for her kids sending thank you notes. Present times were also thank you note times. Birthdays, holidays, First Communion, Graduations - no matter the occasion, if we were given a gift of any sort, we were made to sit down and write a than you note. There was no getting out of it. Funny thing is, I liked writing to people, even thank you notes. I wrote letters to my cousin Rose who lived a couple hours away. I wrote to out of town grandparents and other relatives. I also learned to appreciate and cherish the thank you cards and hand written notes I received from others. My parents are both deceased, Dad 30 years and Mom 4 years), how grateful I am that I have letters they each wrote me in college plus a few cards I kept from my mom in her last few years. I love seeing their words written in their own handwriting.

I'm so grateful for the opportunities I have as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator of 12 years to share card making with others. It gives us all, the opportunity to be creative and to reach out to others and spread kindness. I have no doubt our handmade cards are appreciated as we have created them with love. I believe the words we write in them carry just as much power as people just want to know they are thought of, loved, and appreciated.

I've have worked hard this year in being more consistent with sending my Stampin' Up! customers a handmade card and a little Stampin' Up! gift each month as a small token of my appreciation for supporting me in my Stampin' Peace business. This way they get a little something to help them keep on stamping and making cards. And they have an extra handmade card in their stash to use when needed. I have gotten lots of positive feedback from doing this which I love, and it keeps me motivated to continue doing it into the future.

Some alternate ribbon choices include Braided Linen Trim, Pretty Peacock Scalloped Linen Ribbon, and Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack all from the current Stampin' Up! Gnome for the Holidays

I don't know about you, but with all the stressed and changes of this year, I sure am looking forward to the holidays. I'm getting an early start on all my holiday paper crafting. Here's a look at two of my recently created cards. These Holiday Gnomes are just toooooooo cuuuuuuuute. I can hardly stand it. I smile every time I look at them. This layout is so easy to replicate with a piece of DSP for the background and 3 coordinating strips of DSP. And the Layering Oval Dies are just perfect for showing off these cute holiday gnomes.

I love the Gnome for the Holiday Stamp Set combined with the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper. I used coordinating Stampin' Blends to color. You can find cutting dimensions and supplies below the photos.

I think Ms. Gnome is excited to start her holiday decorating, baking, and stamping, of course. Isn't she cute with that little snicker on her face.

I used a Sponge Dauber and Daffodil Delight ink pad to "illuminate" the star.

I often times like to make my inside layer match the card front layer. The Whisper White card stock on the inside of my card measures 3 3/4" x 5 1/2", the same size as my DSP on the front of the card.Gnome for the Holidays Stamp Set & Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

Just another look at these two cuties...

These In Colors Really Pop!

Look at the way the In Colors "pop" against the black on this card. I received this card created by my SU! demonstrator friend, Tamra Davis in a recent card swap. While the card is simple to make, it is absolutely stunning with the bright colors against the Basic Black card stock. While it appears that the In Color Designer Series Paper strips were simply adhered to the Basic Black card front, that is not the case.

A Little Bird Told Me

Aren't these birds from the Posted for You Stamp Set so cute? They were very easy to color. I colored mine to look like robins using my Stampin' Blends markers. Change out colors and make them any kind of bird you love or ever a variety of birds. Stampin' Up! has several other coloring tools you could use in place of Stampin' Blends if you like: Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens, Stampin' Write Markers.

The Good Things in Life

The good things in life are better with you! There are so many people that I could send cards with this lovely sentiment. - family members, friends, loved ones, and stampin' friends like you. Card making is one of those good things in my life that really is better because of YOU and all my Stampin' Peace customers and followers who allow me the opportunity to share what I love to do. What an awesome job this is!

"The Good Things in Life are better with you" sentiment is a feature product in today's card and free project sheet. This card features the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set and Tasteful Labels Dies along with the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. Take a look at the photos then be sure to download the Free Project Sheet.

So many wonderful details come together to make these cards fabulous!

The Tasteful Touches Stamp Set has several meaningful sentiments. And the size, shape, and stitched detail of the Tasteful Labels Die I used is absolutely perfect for the sentiment on these cards. Don't you agree?
Tasteful Touches Stamp Set, Tasteful Labels Dies, & In Good Taste Designer Series Paper

The paper I chose from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper collection looks like real woven fabric. You can actually see fibers and threads of various colors and shades. The Early Espresso Faux Suede Ribbon adds a layer of soft texture. Tasteful Touches Stamp Set, Tasteful Labels Dies, & In Good Taste Designer Series Paper

The two stamped feathers add an unexpected bit of interest in the otherwise plain corner of the card front.

You can use small embellishments to draw attention to specific words in your stamped sentiments as I did with the silver Metallic Pearls on these cards. I used them to accent the word 'better' on one card and 'you' on the other. I like both!
