You're A Peach meets Basic Borders Dies

What's better than creating with a brand new product suite? How about combining it with a brand new set of dies too? Yep, that's what I did in my May 8th Facebook Live. I created beautiful cards using the new You're A Peach Suite and the new Basic Borders Dies. I love how each of my cards turned out and have no doubt I'll be using ALL of these new products lots in the days, weeks, and months to come! The Basic Border Dies are so incredible versatile, will work well with so many of our Stampin' Up! products, and will take your cards and paper crafts from fabulous to WOW!

Cutting & Scoring Dimensions:

  • Basic White Thick card stock for card base = 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4" on long side.

  • Basic White card stock for stamping on 1st card = 5 1/2" x 3"

The peaches on the right card use Pale Papaya & Calypso Coral. Be sure to view the video above to see how I added the second color for more dimension on the peaches. I love this stamping technique!

Beauty of the Earth Fun Fold

I can't get enough of making Fun Fold Cards. So much so that I committed to "Fun Fold Friday Facebook Lives". This is one of my favorite. So often, people are intimidated by Fun Fold Cards. I can understand when it comes to ones with multiple folds in one cards. BUT, let me tell you, MOST Fun Fold Cards are much easier to make than you think. That's why I love them, and that's why I love sharing them with all my Stampin' Peace followers!

The Fun Fold Card I show in this video demonstration features the incredible Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper. This beautiful DSP can be used year round and for so many different reasons and occasions for sending your handmade cards.

FYI...There is no imperfection on my leaves stamp. I discovered that there was a tiny air bubble between my stamp and the clear block. So I pulled my stamp off the clear acrylic block and reset it. All good stamping after that. A great little tidbit to remember.

Cutting Dimensions:

  • Night of Navy Card Base = 5 1/2" x 7", score at 4 1/4" on LONG side, fold so flap is on front left.
  • Basic White for inside card = 5 1/4" x 4"
  • Night of Navy = 3 3/4" x 3", score at 1/2" on SHORT side.
  • Beauty of the Earth DSP or white card stock for stamping = 3 1/2" x 2 3/8"

Life is Great!

Years ago when I first attempted adding Facebook Lives to my business, I was a nervous wreck. My hands were shaking. My voice was quivering. UGH. I was a hot mess. I committed to continuing to do them but never thought I'd come to like doing them. And now??? I love doing Facebook Lives. Why??? For the immediate feedback and interaction I get from my views. The following video replay from my May 12th Facebook Live, shows you just how much fun my viewers and I have together. I'm warning you, though, we all seemed to be a little out of control that evening. Perhaps, I gave them too many choices, but the continuous back and forth got me (and probably) a few others giggling. I'd even say I was giddy, but hey, that's what Facebook Lives are all about - having fun while sharing and being real! I'm so grateful to all my Stampin' Peace viewers. You make my job even more fun than it already is. I look forward to much more sharing and interacting through Facebook Lives in the future.

Sparkling Ombre Gift Card Holders

I love Stampin' Up! card stock and paper. The Designer Series Papers are always so intriguing to me. Our many Specialty Papers are also, however, I often find myself stuck. I just don't know what to do with them. So with the release of our new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog this month, I decided to go ahead and order the Ombre Specialty Paper. As soon as I received it and opened it, I thought it was so pretty. Very sparkly paper that didn't leave sparkle on me or my hands or my clothes, so I decided to give it a go. I challenged myself to not let that Ombre Specialty Paper sit. So...here is what I came up with - an assortment of Gift card holders.

This Facebook Live Video Replay shows you how to make these fun, sparkly gift card holders for those people who add a little sparkle and fun to your life! Enjoy the video demonstration, then give it a try. You'll also see how our new Basic Borders Dies add something special to these gift card holders.

Cutting & Scoring Dimensions:

  • Cut Ombre Specialty Paper 5 1/2" x 12".
  • Score at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2" on long side. FYI...the first score line will mark you from bottom flap. I put my paper on the scoring tool with the dark ombre end to the left and the light ombre end to the right.
  • Belly Band on 2nd card is 1" x 10".

Cute & Functional Mini Backpack

Have I got an DARLING 3D project for you! I'm going to show you how to make a Mini Backpack in this Facebook Live Video Replay. It's oh, so cute, functional, and fun to make. This  Mini Backpack can be used for so many occasions - graduations, teacher appreciation day, embarking on a trip or new adventure, birthdays, Father's Day, and more. I'm going to use the Mini Backpack use see in my video demonstration gift for my niece. Avery is graduating high school this month and will be attending The Ohio State University in the fall. I used OSU colors and will fill the main section of the backpack with various gift cards that I know a college student will enjoy. I'll put some mini sticky note pads in the front pocket. Then, I'll put the Mini Backpack in a clear cellophane bag and tie it up with a pretty bow and handmade tag. I think Avery will love the handmade touch I put on her graduation gift.

This is the Mini Backpack I received from my friend and SU! team member Tracy Dahling that inspired me to make my own Mini Backpacks for graduation gifts. Tracy had a package of flower shaped sticky notes & a chapstick in her backpack and chocolate mints in the front pocket.

Teacher Appreciation Day is May 4th

As a former teacher and mom who made sure our family showed our appreciation for our children's teachers, school employees, and bus drivers,  I can say a little token of appreciation goes a long way in helping people enjoy their jobs and stay motivated to do and be the best they can be. Tuesday, May 4th is Teacher Appreciation Day. I kept that day in mind when planning my April 28th Facebook Live projects. I created 2 sets of cards and a fun 3D gift tag that you can make quickly and easily and with limited supplies. All projects feature one of my favorite punches, the Apple Builder Punch. If you don't have it yet, I think you're going to want it after seeing this video demonstration. AND you'll want to order it quickly as this item is retiring on May 3rd and is only available while supplies last. AND if you can believe it, it is on sale for just $7.20 (originally $18.00). It doesn't get better than that.

The projects you're about to see in this video are not only great for Teacher Appreciation Day, but for other reasons as well. How about as a Back to School gift, a hostess gift, fall harvest notes, a co-worker gift, or simply to surprise someone with a little pick me up or gift of cheer? How about using these apple cards to send notes and gifts to the "apples of your eyes" - grandchildren or students on summer break?

In the following sets of cards, I used the NEW 2021-2022 Regals Paper Pack Collection. I LOVE the tone-on-tone patterns of the new 6" x 6" DSP's in Brights, Neutrals, Regals, Subtles, and 2021-2023 In Colors. These will be available for all to order on Tuesday, May 4th with the launch of our brand new Annual Catalog.Apple Builder Punch by Stampin' Up!

Who knew that a simple $3.50 product could give so much dimension to an otherwise flat shape? That's exactly what our White Stampin' Chalk Marker does for these apples. It's my best $3.50 investment ever! It also works great for coloring the center of small flowers and so much more. Trust me when I say, "Everyone needs one".

Video Demonstration - Popcorn Purse

As requested by so many who saw my original posts on my very fancy and very chic Oscar Night clutch, I did a video demonstration for my April 26th Facebook Live on how to make these fun party favors. They are great for Girls' Nights, bridal showers and bachelorette parties, little girls' birthday parties and tea parties, and so much more. You can also give them as "movie night" gifts. Perhaps, include and movie DVD or theatre gift card with this fun favor. One viewer even suggested using it as a "welcome to the neighborhood gift" with a movie and enough popcorn favors for the whole family. You could swap out popcorn for a chocolate bar and other treats or a notebook or journal. How about using it as a Mother's Day gift? Change up the paper for any occasion and the size to accommodate other treats or gifts. You can even make something more masculine - think wallet for Father's Day or a brother or an uncle or grandpa's birthday. So many possibilities!

Here's some individual photos for a closer look at my popcorn purses!

Embossing Folder Storage Made Easy!

If you're like me, you are continually looking for new ways to organize your craft supplies so that they all have a place and that they are easily accessible thus making our crafting experience more fun and more efficient.

I made the storage boxes below to house my Embossing Folders. Since we have 3 basic sizes of Embossing Folders, I made 3 different sizes of the boxes. They are all the same height but vary in width.

Watch my video for a complete demonstration of making all 3 sizes of my storage boxes. Then consider how you'd use these to organize your craft room. You might think of other uses for them both in and out of your craft room.
