Congratulations Feed

Congratulations, Emily!

Two weeks ago, our family celebrated our daughter & sister Emily. Emily and her Doctor of Physical Therapy classmates had their pinning ceremony (postponed from last year due to covid). While only students and staff could be at the in-person event, the rest of us watched virtually. What an exciting time for this class of 2022. Just 3 days later they all completed their 2nd year of DPT school. Now, they enter their 3rd and final year by doing 3 rounds of clinicals. We are so proud of Emily for how hard she has worked and all that she has accomplished and for the all-around good person that she is.

This is the card I made for Emily to mark this special milestone. It features the beautiful new Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper along with a sentiment from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set. You can see the full Hand-Penned Suite Collection on pages 104-105 in our new Annual Catalog.

Be sure to download the Free Project Sheet so you can make this card too.

Life is Great!

Years ago when I first attempted adding Facebook Lives to my business, I was a nervous wreck. My hands were shaking. My voice was quivering. UGH. I was a hot mess. I committed to continuing to do them but never thought I'd come to like doing them. And now??? I love doing Facebook Lives. Why??? For the immediate feedback and interaction I get from my views. The following video replay from my May 12th Facebook Live, shows you just how much fun my viewers and I have together. I'm warning you, though, we all seemed to be a little out of control that evening. Perhaps, I gave them too many choices, but the continuous back and forth got me (and probably) a few others giggling. I'd even say I was giddy, but hey, that's what Facebook Lives are all about - having fun while sharing and being real! I'm so grateful to all my Stampin' Peace viewers. You make my job even more fun than it already is. I look forward to much more sharing and interacting through Facebook Lives in the future.

The Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon and Matte Black Dots are wonderful embellishments for the following card being that a Basic Black card stock layer was was used instead of the Basic White layer.

MORE Sparkling Ombre Gift Card Holders

Did you see my May 13th post? I shared a video demonstration of me making a couple of gift card holders featuring the blue Ombre Specialty Paper. If you haven't seen the video, click here to view it now.

I created a couple more Gift Card Holders also using the Ombre Specialty Paper. I wanted these to be more feminine than the ones I showed you in my May 13th blog post, so I added components of our very popular Pansy Petals Suite. I love these and can't wait to gift them to some special ladies!

Cutting & Scoring Dimensions:

  • Cut Ombre Specialty Paper 5 1/2" x 12"
  • Score at 4 1/4" and 8 1/2" on long side. FYI...the first score line will mark you from bottom flap. I put my paper on the scoring tool with the dark ombre end to the left and the light ombre end to the right.

Easiest way to use Gilded Leafing

Gilded Leafing can add a dramatic effect to your cards, scrapbook pages, and other paper crafts. There are several different ways to use it from using it with Heat & Stick Powder and Heat Tool to a variety of adhesives. This card shows one of the simplest ways to use Gilded Leafing as an accent or embellishment. Simply lay a strip of Tear & Tape onto card stock where you want to add Gilded Leafing. Remove backing and press down into Gilded Leafing. Remove excess with small brush, sponge, or your finger tip.

To make this card, be sure to download my Free Project Sheet.

Download Project Sheet - Art Gallery Card in Merry Merlot

Art Gallery Stamp Set & Gilded Leafing by Stampin' Up!

TIP: Gilded Leafing is VERY light & airy. I HIGHLY suggest that you pour the Gilded Leafing from its original jar into a larger plastic container with a lid. The container should be large enough to press your card stock down into.

Cute & Functional Mini Backpack

Have I got an DARLING 3D project for you! I'm going to show you how to make a Mini Backpack in this Facebook Live Video Replay. It's oh, so cute, functional, and fun to make. This  Mini Backpack can be used for so many occasions - graduations, teacher appreciation day, embarking on a trip or new adventure, birthdays, Father's Day, and more. I'm going to use the Mini Backpack use see in my video demonstration gift for my niece. Avery is graduating high school this month and will be attending The Ohio State University in the fall. I used OSU colors and will fill the main section of the backpack with various gift cards that I know a college student will enjoy. I'll put some mini sticky note pads in the front pocket. Then, I'll put the Mini Backpack in a clear cellophane bag and tie it up with a pretty bow and handmade tag. I think Avery will love the handmade touch I put on her graduation gift.

This is the Mini Backpack I received from my friend and SU! team member Tracy Dahling that inspired me to make my own Mini Backpacks for graduation gifts. Tracy had a package of flower shaped sticky notes & a chapstick in her backpack and chocolate mints in the front pocket.

Video Demonstration - Popcorn Purse

As requested by so many who saw my original posts on my very fancy and very chic Oscar Night clutch, I did a video demonstration for my April 26th Facebook Live on how to make these fun party favors. They are great for Girls' Nights, bridal showers and bachelorette parties, little girls' birthday parties and tea parties, and so much more. You can also give them as "movie night" gifts. Perhaps, include and movie DVD or theatre gift card with this fun favor. One viewer even suggested using it as a "welcome to the neighborhood gift" with a movie and enough popcorn favors for the whole family. You could swap out popcorn for a chocolate bar and other treats or a notebook or journal. How about using it as a Mother's Day gift? Change up the paper for any occasion and the size to accommodate other treats or gifts. You can even make something more masculine - think wallet for Father's Day or a brother or an uncle or grandpa's birthday. So many possibilities!

Here's some individual photos for a closer look at my popcorn purses!

Make My Popcorn Purse!

My family has always enjoyed movies whether it be movie night at home or a trip to the theatre (boy, do I miss that). And popcorn just makes the movie experience better! It seemed appropriate that I have a fun Oscar Night treat so why not share my "popcorn purse". Take a look at my fancy Oscar Night clutch made from Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper and Basic Black Card Stock. It looks so elegant on the outside, but on the inside it's a popcorn party!

Happy Earth Day with Beauty of the Earth Suite

Happy Earth Day!Earth-tree-900x620

Beauty of the Earth Suite by Stampin' Up!

For today's post I made 8 slimline cards quickly and easily and with just 1 sheet of Designer Series Paper. You can too! Simply follow my cutting dimensions and assembly instructions below. Easy peasy, I guarantee it!

Cutting Dimensions:

  • Card bases = Cut 8 measuring 7" x 8 1/2", score at 3 1/2" on short side, fold in half. (I cut 4 Night of Navy & 4 Merry Merlot.)
