Stamping with Friends Blog Hop - Birthday

Stamping with Friends Blog Hop

I'm excited to be participating in my first Stampin' with Friends Blog Hop. A Card Sketch Challenge with a Birthday Theme is the focus of this blog hop. I created my own card sketch (my first of many, I hope) and then designed a birthday card with it. My card features products from the Pansy Petals Suite and one of our newest In Colors, Fresh Freesia. I hope you like this card as much as I loved designing it.

***Please note that dimensions and shapes can be changed to suit your own creative expression.

  • Card front layer (DSP) = 5 1/4" x 4"
  • Small card stock square = 1 1/4" x 1 1/4"
  • Large card stock square = 1 3/8" x 1 3/8"
  • Card stock for sentiment = use size and shape to accommodate your chosen sentiment.

Pansy Petals Suite by Stampin' Up!

Such a pretty card for a spring birthday or simply for someone who loves flowers in general or pansies specifically.
Pansy Petals Suite by Stampin' Up!

The pansies were cut from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper using the small pansy die cut from the Pansy Dies. I fussy cut the small leaves from another print in the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper pack. I placed a small Pale Papaya rhinestone from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels in the center of each pansy for a bit of bling. I wrapped Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon around the entire card front and tied a knot at the right side. The sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set was stamped in Fresh Freesia ink on Basic White card stock then punched with the Double Oval Punch. I decided to layer white on white ovals.

I die cut another small pansy from Pansy Petals DSP and adhered it to the inside of the card for an added touch.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Batter Up

It's time for another Paper Pumpkin Possibilities monthly blog hop. Take a look at my alternate project for the Paper Pumpkin Batter Up kit. I used the contents of my May 2021 kit to create a 2-page scrapbook layout, perfect for capturing memories from one of summer's favorite pastime baseball!

After viewing photos of my Batter Up Scrapbook Layout, be sure to click the "NEXT PUMPKIN" to view the next Batter Up alternate project by Lisa Bernard. There are a total of 12 demonstrators participating in this blog hop.

Paper Pumpkin Batter Up

As you can see, I made 3 cards, 1 each of the 3 designs in the Paper Pumpkin directions. I then cut the card bases down the center and used the 3 card fronts as focal points while the white pieces can be for photos and/or journaling special memories of a ballgame or of your favorite ball player. I added Real Red and Bumblebee card stock layers cut to 5 3/4"  x 4 1/2" behind the card fronts.

You can punch the ends of the small Real Red rectangles included in the Paper Pumpkin kit with your Banners Pick a Punch.

Here are some close up views of various parts of my scrapbook pages. I enjoyed embellishing the pages with the red and yellow resin dots included in this month's Batter Up kit.

April 2021 Paper Pumpkin So Cool

As soon as I saw this month's Paper Pumpkin Kit, I knew it would be perfect for scrapbook pages to preserve fun summer memories. I chose bold colors that were already included in the kit theme - Bermuda Bay, Bumblebee, Old Olive, Terracotta Tile, and Blackberry Bliss. The rainbow and large popsicles are from 2 cards that I cut apart, using only the card fronts. The small popsicles, fruits, and sun are stickers from the kit. The striped paper is from a lined envelope in the So Cool Kit that I cut apart. Card stock pieces are 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" and 4 1/4" x 6 1/4".

To make this Paper Pumpkin Here's to You Fun Fold card, I used a Pretty Peacock card base from the kit and cut off 1" from the left side of the card front and 1 1/4" from the right side of the card front. I cut a flowered envelope liner 5 1/2" x 4" and adhered to the inside of the card base. I then cut 1/8" all the way around the scene on the Petal Pink card from the kit. I adhered this to the front flap of my Pretty Peacock card base. I also cut a 3" x 4 1/4" piece from the Petal Pink card base to adhere to the inside of the card. I completed my card by adding Pretty Peacock evergreen die cuts from the kit to both the front and inside of my card. I added my stamped sentiment with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals and a double bow tied with Natural Twine.
