Masking Paper Techniques with Forever Fern

Before jumping into today's project, I want to share what took place one afternoon this week in my Stampin' Peace Studio. I had some young crafters visit. My niece Avery has been watching Jameson, Addison, and Beau this summer, and asked if she could bring them over for a "crafternoon". Of course, I said yes. (FYI...these same kids were here 2 years ago when my other niece Alison watched them, so it was fun to have them back. And they were excited to be back.)

We first made cards from the April 2021 So Cool Paper Pumpkin Kit. Do you remember it? Each child made 2 popsicle cards, 1 watermelon card, and 1 rainbow card. They each talked about giving one to their new teacher as "Meet the Teacher" was the next day. They decorated blank art journals with stickers and then ecorated gift bags to put their cards and other goodies in using Stampin' Write markers. Then we had an ice cream treat. Afterwards, the kids could create on their own using card stock and retired Designer Series Paper. They made signs for their rooms and cards for their mom and dad. All in all, it was a fun "crafternoon" for all of us.

My sister Joan (Avery's mom) stopped over. The kids had fun sharing what they made with her.

The kids are ready to head home with all their paper crafts and big smiles. And I got big hugs!
