January - June 2022 Mini Catalog LAST CHANCE LIST

My heart is very heavy this week as I'm sure it is for many of us. Living life as "normal" just hasn't felt right after learning of yet another tragic school shooting in our country. Yesterday morning, I found it very difficult to focus on my work. so decided instead to get outside. I mowed my lawn, walked, sat in the sun just trying to process my thoughts and feelings, called a friend, and took time for prayer. I didn't feel much like doing a Facebook Live last night either but decided I needed to and that I'd probably feel better for having done so. I was right. I'm grateful for the support, understanding, grace, compassion and prayers of this Stampin' Peace community we've created together.

This week, I was reminded why I chose the name "Stampin' Peace" for my business. I was reminded that stamping and paper crafting and sharing it with others brings me joy and peace. It reminded me that we all have the power to make the lives of others a little better and a little brighter by making and sending handmade cards. Together, with this simple act of sending cards we spread love, happiness, compassion, and understanding. These small acts of kindness do make the world a better place. Every card sent makes a difference to someone somewhere. It is my hope that card making, and more importantly, the sending of our cards, fills each of our hearts and those we serve with a sense of joy and peace. Today, more than ever we need to be kind, thoughtful, compassionate, respectful. We need to believe that every life is precious and that every life matters. We need to work together to create peace in our hearts and to advocate for peace in our communities, in our country, in our world. I pray for peace today and everyday for you, for me, for our families and friends, for our neighborhoods and communities, for our country and our world. I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe we also need to advocate for a better life for us all. We need to advocate for peace just as much as we pray for peace.

P3S-782-1200x1200

Below is the replay of my May 25th Facebook Live. I wasn't quite as upbeat as I usually am, but with the support of my viewers, I got through it. It's nice to have a community where I/we can feel safe sharing our thoughts and feelings.

You will want to grab your January - June 2022 Mini Catalog and a pen to use as you watch this video. I hope you find this Mini Catalog "walk through"  helpful as I point out the retiring products and which of those are discounted. Please note: the Last Chance Promotion and Discounted Prices begin on June 1st and end June 30th. Also note, ALL Last Chance Products are available while supplies last only. To avoid disappointment, make your selections now and be ready to order on or soon after June 1st. Items may sell out quickly.

Thank you all for being a part of my Stampin' Peace community. I am blessed and grateful.

Sending Sunshine & Good Feelings

Hmmmm, what can you do to have a little fun and spread joy and good feeling to others? Make and send a handmade card, of course! I created this cheerful, sunny card with the new Good Feelings Stamp Set from the 2022 - 2023 Annual Catalog and the Tulip Fields Stamp Set from the 2022 January - June Mini Catalog. As you'll see in my Facebook Live video replay below, the Stamparatus, our perfect stamp placement tool, plays an integral part in creating this card.

Cutting Dimensions:

  • Card base = 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4" on long side, fold in half
  • Basic White card stock inside = 5 1/4" x 4"
  • Basic Black card stock = 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
  • Basic White for stamping = 5" x 3 3/4"
  • Basic White scrap for die cutting smallest circle from Layering Circles Dies = approximately 3" x 3"

Perfectly Penciled Cash Card for the Graduate

Mother's Day is here once again. Every year at this time, I find myself reflecting on my years as a mom. Am I good enough? Have I shown enough love? Did I praise enough? Was I a good listener? and on and on. Yes, I've always taken my role as a mom very seriously, maybe too much so at times???, I don't know. I consider being a mom the most important work I'll ever do. Did I always get it right? No. Did I make mistakes? Yes. I think I can look back at my 30+ years as a mom and honestly say I did my best - the best I knew how with what I had. From the moment they were born and I learned what instant love was to now as I embrace the time I get to spend with them as adult children, I have loved them unconditionally and with all my heart and soul, and I have thanked God every day that he entrusted them to me.

I look at my daughters now (Andrea is 30. Emily is 25.) and see what truly good people they are. They're hard working, kind, caring, loving, compassionate, respectful people. They always strive to do and be their best, give of themselves, and care for others. They're both quite fun to be around and are good at making me laugh and smile. I look at Andrea and Emily and see that they are my greatest achievement and my legacy. I am forever grateful to be their mom.

My own mom passed on nearly 6 years ago. I spend time thinking about her too, knowing that she too did her best. It's still strange not to call her on this day to wish her Happy Mother's Day. I think, though, that she'd be just as proud of me and my family today as she was when she was here on earth with us. I think she looks down on us and sees the wonderful people we are and celebrates milestones and special moments with us and watches over us in our struggles too. I'm grateful for the signs I get that she is still with me in spirit.

Happy Mother's Day to ALL the wonderful moms out there. I hope your day is blessed with love, happiness, family, and friends, and perhaps a few surprises too.

This day is also a day of celebration for another reason. Today I'll watch my niece graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from The Ohio State University. I'm so proud of Alison, and in celebration of her achievement, I created a special money card for her. I want to show you how you can make a money card too.

I've chosen some new products that I though would be perfect for this task. You can't go wrong with the Perfectly Pencilled Designer Series Paper for black & white cards with a pop of color. This black and white DSP can be used as is or customized with any of our color tools and inks. My money card also features the Happiness Abounds Bundle. Why not dress your cash gifts in some pretty packaging perfect for graduations, birthdays, weddings, Mother's Day, and so many more gift giving occasions. You'll have fun doing it and your special people will be delighted with your handmade presentation.

Cash Card Cutting & Scoring Dimensions:

  • Basic Black card base = 7" x 8 1/2"
  • Basic White card stock =  6 3/4" x 3" (cut 2) and 6 3/4" x 1 3/4"
  • Basic White for banner = 4" x 3/4" plus scrap for stamping & color flower and leaves
  • DSP = 6 5/8" x 2 7/8" and 6 5/8" x 1 5/8"
  • DSP for belly band = 8 1/2" x 1"

Paradise Palms

I don't know about you, but I sure could use a vacation with some fun and relaxation some place sunny and warm right about now. I've been burning the midnight oil trying to keep it all together. Andrea's bridal shower was a few weeks ago, wedding invitations are in the mail, and this weekend we celebrate Emily's graduation with a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. All that while keeping very busy with my Stampin' Up! business and being present for others and trying to take better care of my physical and mental health. Anyone else crazy busy and feeling a bit overwhelmed like me? Anyone else use stamping and paper crafting as a break from real life, that happy place you go to? Yeah, I get you. You are not alone.

We may not be at the beach or on a tropical island, but the cards featured in this video demonstration can help us escape in our minds for a bit. What's not to love about stamping and crafting and new techniques to try? Enjoy this video replay of my April 20th card making demonstration featuring cards made with the Paradise Palms Stamp Set and Blending Brushes and ink pads. You'll also pick up some tips for putting the stickers and your rubber stamps and using our amazing Stamparatus.

Stampin' Up! touches for Andrea's Bridal Shower

I've been a little quiet here on my blog and my social media channels over the last few days but for good reason. Sunday, Emily (my 25 year old daughter) and I hosted a bridal shower for Andrea (my 30 year old daughter). It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating the bride with family and friends and seeing so many people love on Andrea. It was so fun and such a joy to be able to put some personal touches on the day using Stampin' Up! products I love so much. From favors and decorations to even using my Stampin' Peace Studio to host the occasion. Here are some photos of this special day.

IMG_6224 (1)The XOXO treat boxes were add ons to the January Paper Pumpkin Kit Hugs & Kisses. I put chocolates inside each one and added a pretty Polished Dots Embellishment to each heart tag and tied with gold trim.

IMG_6224 (1)I used the Heart Punch Pack, white card stock, Create with Friends Stamp Set, Blushing Bride ink, Champagne Foil (retired) and Petal Pink with Gold Ribbon (retired). They were SOOOOO easy to make. Both favors got rave reviews from our guests.

IMG_6362 (1)"Love" was stamped using the Create with Friends Stamp Set.

You may recognize this home decor piece I made before Valentine's Day featured in a blog hop. It too was made with the Hugs & Kisses Paper Pumpkin kit. I put it on a shelf in my kitchen to repurpose it for the bridal shower.

I used the January Paper Pumpkin Kit Hugs & Kisses to make banners also. I put several of the fun fold card bases together with ribbon to create the many banners I used to decorate my living room and shelves in my Stampin' Peace Studio.

IMG_6224 (1)Do you recognize these? I used our Celebrate Today Magnetic Board Kit to make this collage wall over a sofa in my living room where I showcased Andrea and Jon's engagement pictures. This kit is so versatile. I'll be able to change out the background papers and photos for future family events, special occasions, and holidays. The magnetic board and gold metallic clips will make it easy to do so.

I purchased a photo box and wrapped it with Petal Pink Striped Organdy Ribbon. Can you guess what I put inside? Postage Stamps and Thank you notes. Lots and lots of thank you notes I made for the bridal shower and the wedding. This was one of my gifts for the bride.

Stampin' Up! Notes Cards and Envelopes make putting together such a gift easy and inexpensive.

IMG_6237 (1)How many kisses for the Mrs. do you think are in the vase decorated with SU! Blushing Bride Ribbon? Guests used the white hearts with gold trim also from the Hugs & Kisses kit to write their guesses on. And of course, Basic White Thick and Blushing Bride card stock were used to make the sign. There were 221 kisses in the vase. 218 was the winning guess. PS. I kept foil on the top so I wouldn't be tempted to eat any of the chocolates. I love sweets, all sweets, especially chocolates.

IMG_6263 (1)I'm so proud of my girls and am grateful for the love and happiness they bring to my life. I never knew having adult children would be so much fun!

Does anyone recognize this Designer Series Paper? I used Modge Podge to adhere 12" x 12" DSP to 12" square stretched canvases. These were hanging in my living room until I recently moved them to the sitting room off my Stampin' Peace Studio.

IMG_6237 (1)I have a beautiful antique dining room set that once belonged to my grandmother then my mom. Since moving to my house in Columbus, I only have a small eat in kitchen and no longer have a separate dining room. The set is too big for my kitchen space and I didn't want to have it in storage so have incorporated the hutch and buffet into my Stampin' Peace Studio. They house my china and are used to display cards and other hand made crafts. It was used to serve the buffet lunch for the bridal shower.

IMG_6237 (1)I set up a couple of small table around my work space for salads and drinks. You will recognize my craft space behind the tables if you watch my Facebook Lives. I love that I can use and share my Stampin' Peace Studio in a variety of ways.

I have 3 of these shelving units in my studio that I use for display and storage. On this one I hung more banners created with the fun fold card bases from the Hugs & Kisses Kit and displayed a few pictures of Andrea and Jon and a Love collage I made for Valentine's Day last year.

IMG_6241 (1)I had fun seeing Andrea take in the set up and all the personal touches for her bridal shower for the first time. I kept it a secret until she arrived Sunday.
IMG_6244 (1)I ended up buying this set of decorations for a pop of color on this big blank wall.

IMG_6243 (1)Pots of succulents and gift cards served as both center pieces and game prizes.

IMG_6243 (1)This game was a HUGE hit. It was fun hearing stories and memories shared as everyone tried to guess the ages of the bride and groom in the photos.
IMG_6247 (1)I used the SU! heart punch to punch Blushing Bride hearts to number photos of the bride and Soft Succulent hearts for the groom's photos.

Another set of DSP canvases to add some color and personality to the back corner of my Stampin' Peace Studio.

I realized I forgot to take pictures of the desserts - lemon bars made by Emily, a chocolate brownie strawberry trifle made by me, and heart shaped cookies made by our dear friend Rosie. They were all delicious.

Thanks for visiting. I appreciate the opportunity to share with you a glimpse of this special day in my life and the way I was able to incorporate my love of creativity and Stampin' Up! into the celebration. Perhaps, I have inspired some of you to add some of your own creative touches to your special occasions and holidays.

Stampin' Peace Hugs to you all.

Wildflower Path

I want to show you how to make beautiful cards with the Wildflower Path Stamp Set with 2 step stamping. I make it easy for you to use this often overlooked stamp set to make cards that give stunning results, so much so that you are going to want to own this pretty stamp set.

Cutting Dimensions for my first card shown below:

  • Card base = 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4" on long side, fold in half.
  • DSP = 4" x 6", cut at 5 1/4" to form 2 pieces measuring 5 1/4" x 4" and 3/4" by 4 inches. The strip will be use on  inside of card.
  • Basic White card stock for inside = 5 1/4" x 4"
  • Basic White card stock for stamping = 4" x 4"
  • Ribbon = 5"

For the card below, I used many of the same elements as in my first card but made one significant change to create a fun fold card. I made a base of Mint Macaron card stock 5 1/2" x 4 1/4 layered with DSP measuring 4 5 1/4" x 4". I then cut a piece of 4" x 8" white card stock, scored and folded it in half to use as the card that opens to include your written message. Otherwise, the two cards are very similar.
