For this blog hop post, I wanted to do something very different by using an often overlooked product - Paper Lattices. I've used this product in a couple of different ways so far. The first was as a back drop for cards featuring the Bloom Where You're Planted Suite. Recently I created a fall thank you card by weaving strips of Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive card stock through a Paper Lattice making the Paper Lattice the focal point of the card.

For this post, I created a card by weaving 2 pieces of Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/2" Ribbon through the Paper Lattice - one horizontally and one vertically. I then added a bow of the same ribbon and a small stamped "gift tag" for a Christmas "present" card. I love the way this turned out. It's pretty. It's elegant. It uses my all time favorite red - Cherry Cobbler. The ribbon weaving was easy as the Paper Lattices are more sturdy than you'd think. And this card is quick to make.

I later got to thinking that this would be a fun card to give a gift card. Simply add a card stock or DSP pocket to the inside. And if I can make a Christmas present card, why not make birthday present card too. The possibilities are endless.

TIP: Use a small dot of Multipurpose Glue on each little solid diamond shape on the back of the Paper Lattice to adhere it to your card front.

What a brilliant idea! I love it! And like you said, it is really very elegant! How fun it would be with colorful ribbon for a birthday card, or even the In Color ribbons for an anniversary or wedding card! The possibilities are endless. Guess I better go order some!

Lori

I have purchased the paper lattice and really have not found a use for them other than with Plentiful Plants. I love the way you used them to weave the ribbon through. Your card is both simple and beautiful.

Ginger Rabesa

What a terrific use of the lattice! I'll have to pull mine out and start creating!!

Sharon Hashimoto Burkert
