Quick Tip Tuesday - Make a Frame with Dies

Gingerbread & Peppermint Scrapbook Pages

I must admit, the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite makes me a bit nostalgic. I remember my mom being the best cookie baker I knew, at Christmas time in particular. She'd make dozens and dozens of cookies to the point where you just stopped counting, and she made probably a dozen different kinds. The baking went on for weeks. And of course, we kids got to help if we wanted and eventually took on some of that baking as we got older. To this day, I love to bake, especially cookies, and I love doing it at Christmas time with my own daughters who are nearly 25 and 30. I look forward to baking cookies for and with grandchildren some day too.

I think Mom's favorite part of baking was giving all the cookies away. She'd get big trays...I mean BIG...and would busy herself placing the cookies just so so that the "present" looked as wonderful as the cookies tasted. She'd take several to our elementary school for the staff, share with many of our friends and neighbors, and probably took them to the hospital where she worked as an RN. She'd also take dozens in large tins to our annual Schulte Family Christmas Party.

These are the things I thought about when I first saw the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite in our Holiday Mini Catalog. Such classic themes in classic holiday colors make these coordinating products appealing for all. In a past Facebook Live, I used some of the products in this festive suite to demonstrate how I create scrapbook layouts. Designing and making scrapbook pages in advance of an event or occasion means that when I'm ready to print photos, I have a place to put them right away. It's a simple process, and it works for me. Take a look at my video demonstration to see my "simple scrapbooking" and my thought process behind it. Then gather some supplies of your own and start creating some scrapbook pages to preserve your special memories of the upcoming holidays.

I'll be using these scrapbook pages to preserve the memories of this year's holiday baking with my daughters!

Thank you for posting scrapbook pages. They are adorable and I don't see scrapbook pages posted on blogs very often. I miss the scrapbooking catalog SU sent years ago.

Thanks so much, Avis. I'm trying to post scrapbook pages a couple times a month.
