Emboss Resist Technique with Snowflake Wishes

If you love stamping techniques, especially Heat Embossing, I think you're going to enjoy using the Emboss Resist Technique. This is a simple technique that makes a big impact. In the Facebook Live Video Replay below I demonstrate this fun technique and show you how to use Blender Brushes. I love this new set of tools. The Blender Brushes are available to order beginning January 5th with our new January-June Mini Catalog. They are sold as a set of 3 for $12.00 and are definitely worth the investment. You get a much softer look using Blending Brushes rather than Stampin' Sponges or Sponge Daubers.

Here's a close up of the Blending Brushes that will be available for purchase beginning January 5, 2021, in our January-June Mini Catalog. They are sooooo easy to use and give a beautiful, soft affect. After using them for these cards, I simply rinsed my Blending Brushes in cold water, soaked up excess water with paper towel, then let air dry. As you can see there is some staining which does not affect future use.

Below are more cards I made with the the Emboss Resist Technique. My next two cards feature Fine Art Gallery Stamp Set (also available starting January 5, 2021) with White Heat Embossing.

Quite Curvy Hello Note Card

It's nice to send a pretty card simply to say hello to a friend or loved one who you haven't see in a long time or who you know needs a little pick me up or to know they are thought of. This card is perfect for that person. The card is simple and quick to make. The gold hoop adds a fun element to this wreath card. The sentiment and flowers are from the Quiet Curvy Bundle. And with such bright colors as Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green, and Pool Party, whose days wouldn't be made just a bit brighter with this card?

No extra layers of card stock or Designer Series Paper for this simply beautiful card.

Quite Curvy Stamp Set & Curvy Dies by Stampin' Up!I prefer to use Whisper White THICK card stock for my white card bases as it is much sturdier and stands up better than our original Whisper White card stock that is intended for layering. The same holds true for Very Vanilla card bases.

Quite Curvy Stamp Set & Curvy Dies by Stampin' Up!
What a nice impact this Gold Hoop Embellishment adds. It makes this simple card a bit fancy!

TIPS for making this card:

  • For adhering the Gold Hoop Embellishments, use a few Mini Glue Dots rolled up or even a few tiny pieces of Tear & Tape rolled. You don't need adhesive all the way around the Gold Hoop. Just 3-4 spots with good adhesive will hold your Gold Hoop in place nicely.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Black Momento Ink or in color of your choice.
  • I stamped 2 floral sprigs in Black Momento Ink and colored with Stampin' Blends in Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green, and Pool Party.
  • Die cut both floral sprigs. Then cut one of them into 2 pieces (1 very small piece and 1 longer piece) and tuck and adhere these underneath the Gold Hoop. The other floral sprig I placed over the top of the hoop using Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere it to the card base.
  • Use a Mini Glue Dot behind the knot of the bow to adhere it to the bottom of the floral wreath.

You're one in a million!

New products are so much fun to play with. The Quite Curvy Bundle, Curvy Christmas Stamp Set, and festive Curvy Celebrations DSP do not disappoint. In fact, I'm going to need a lot more time to create with these fabulous and versatile products. My Facebook Live video replay below gives you some tips for using the Curvy Dies and will show you how to make a beautiful card perfect for telling someone how much they mean to you.

The cards in today's blog post give you a sneak peek at the Quite Curvy Bundle which will be in our 2021 January - June Mini Catalog. But you don't have to wait that long to order it. The Quite Curvy Bundle is available as a pre-order to EVERYONE beginning November 3rd.  And if you love Quite Curvy Bundle, consider adding the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set & Classic Christmas 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper to your upcoming order. These coordinating Christmas products will NOT be in the 2021 Jan - June Mini Catalog like the Quite Curvy Bundle. They are exclusive to the Curvy Celebrations Promotion November 3rd - January 4th only.

Quite Curvy Stamp Set & Curvy Dies by Stampin' Up!
Such a great card for expressing gratitude, love, congratulations, and even thinking of you and encouragement.
Quite Curvy Stamp Set & Curvy Dies by Stampin' Up!

3 Curvy Dies were used on this card. One cut the curvy edge & dots. The second one cut the leaves and embossed the curly lines. The third die used cut out the bird I colored with Stampin' Blends.

I added an extra layer of Mint Macaron card stock between the card base and Whisper White card stock on the inside of the card for a little added interest.
