I sure am excited about this post. I had SOOOOOO much fun demonstrating lots of Embossing Folder Techniques in a recent Facebook Live. You are going to love all the different ways of using embossing folders adding more value to your embossing folders. Embossing folders are a small thing that can make a BIG impact on our cards and paper crafts. The cards and techniques I show in this video feature Stampin' Up!'s brand new Fern 3D Embossing Folder. Definitely a new favorite embossing folder for me. I hope you find this video helpful and inspiring and fun too. I'd love to see how you use some of these easy and fun embossing folder techniques.
Cutting Dimensions:
Card base = 4 1/4" x 11", score at 5 1/2" on long side, fold in half.
Basic White card stock inside = 5 1/4" x 4"
Basic White card stock for embossing = 4 3/4" x 3 1/2
Card stock layers for So Saffron and Evening Evergreen cards = 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"
2 rectangle corner layers for Soft Succulent cards = 3" x 4 1/4" or size of your choice.
Metallic Gold strips = 1/2" x 3 1/2"
The 2 cards below show the difference between the "embossed" and "debossed" sides of the card stock.
For the 2 cards below I applied Soft Succulent Ink to one side of the embossing folder with a Blending Brush, embossed the white card stock, then cleaned the embossing folder and then repeated the process inking the other side of the embossing folder before embossing the white card stock.
For the following 2 cards, I embossed the white card stock pieces, then applied ink. I used a Blending Brush to apply Evening Evergreen ink to the embossed card stock on the left and used a Stampin' Sponge to apply Evening Evergreen ink to the embossed card stock on the right. Two very different looks, a softer look versus a bolder look.

We all love word dies for making fabulous cards, scrapbook pages, collages, and more. In this video demonstration, I'll introduce you to a fun technique using the Amazing Thanks Dies and all our word dies. Watch, then put your word dies to use in a new way!
Cutting Dimensions for Fresh Freesia Thanks Card:
Card base = 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4" on long side
Card stock layer on front = 5 1/4" x 4"
Basic White inside = 5 1/4" x 4"
Below you'll see additional ways to use the Amazing Thanks Dies. I love having several ways we can use our Stampin' Up! products.
For this card I used both the Amazing Silhouette Stamp Set and Amazing Thanks Dies. Stamping in Shaded Spruce ink directly onto the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper really adds a lot of interest to this card. Card stock colors used were Shaded Spruce and Basic Gray.
Cutting Dimensions for Tree Thanks Card above:
Card base = 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4" on long side
Card stock layer on front = 5" x 3 3/4"
DSP = 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"
Basic White inside = 5 1/4" x 4"
Cutting Dimensions for You Are Amazing Card above:
Card base = 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4" on long side
DSP 1 = 5 1/4" x 4"
DSP 2 = 5 1/4" x 2"
Basic White inside = 5 1/4" x 4"
Making one card is fun but making two is even better. You can die cut once and make 2 cards by using both the negative and positive pieces from your die cutting. As shown in the pair of cards below, I die cut the word Thanks from Pattern Party DSP. I used that large piece of DSP with the words cut out for one card front and and adhered the die cut word itself to the front of a second card. Card stock used to make this card is Granny Apple Green and Basic White.
Cutting Dimensions for Granny Apple Green Thanks Cards above:
Card bases = 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4" on long side
Basic White layer on front = 5" x 3 3/4"
DSP or Basic White layer = 4" x 3 1/2"
DSP strip on 2nd card = 4" x 3/8"
Basic White inside = 5 1/4" x 4"
Die cut 'thanks' from DSP. Use the DSP with word hole on 1st card. Use die cut 'thanks' on 2nd card.

On a personal note, thank you to all who inquired about the bridal shower Emily and I hosted for Andrea last Sunday. It was a fun day filled with family, friends, love, and happiness. To see all the Stampin' Up! touches I used on decorations and favors, click here.
In today's Facebook Live video replay, you'll see a fun technique using paper strips done 2 ways - one with card stock strips, the other with a piece of DSP cut into strips. A piece of Window Sheet is used as a base for the strips. With so many card stock colors and Designer Series Paper with various card layouts, the possibilities are endless. Enjoy watching my demonstration, the put this technique to use in your own craft room. It's easy and makes creating and sending your handmade cards even more fun. Plus the people who receive your cards are sure to smile with delight and gratitude. So click on the video below then give the floating strips technique a try today.
Confession Time: I have to admit, I totally forgot to "float" the window sheet with card stock strips by adhering it to my card stock with Stampin' Dimensionals. Hello??? You know how much I love using Stampin' Dimensionals, right? I use them on nearly every card I make. Yet, I forgot to use them on my Floating Strips Card above. Ooooops. It's still a pretty card and you get the idea, right!
I adhered DSP strips to Window Sheet in order then cut out a circle from it with the largest Layering Circles Dies and my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Using dies to cut out your Floating Strips adds even more variety and possibilities for creating unique cards. Yep, my strips are floating on this card! LOL

It's easy and makes giving (and receiving) gift cards fun. See a demonstration from start to finish and pick up tips on paper piecing, using Blender Pens, and creating a clever card closure too.
There's so much to love about this gift card holder - the Paper Piecing of the coat, pretty Holiday Rhinestones for tree ornaments, a clever card closure, and pretty Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper.
The Tailored Tag Punch was used to hold this gift card holder closed.
I also used the Tailored Tag Punch to punch a notch in the gift card pocket.

I LOVE when I discover ways to use my Stampin' Up! products in unexpected ways. I especially love discovering ways to use my holiday products year round, not just for the holiday season. In this video, you'll see that I use the Christmas Bells in the Gingerbread Dies collection to make stunning cards for weddings, anniversaries, engagements, and bridal showers. This idea was definitely not something I thought of when I purchased the Frosted Gingerbread Bundle, but I'm so glad it came to me later.
Which is your favorite wedding card, the Basic White or Very Vanilla? Mine is the white one. My daughter Andrea is getting married in June and is wearing white, and the Soft Succulent color of the ribbon on this card is very similar to the color of her bridesmaids' dresses. I think this will be a wonderful wedding or bridal shower card to use for this special event in our family.
Cutting Dimensions for 2 cards shown above:
Card base = 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score & fold at 4 1/4" on long side
Card stock layer embossed with Tasteful Textile EF = 5 1/4" x 4"
card stock layer for stamping = 4 1/4" x 3"
I used Silver and Gold Foil paper to make 25th Anniversary and 50th Anniversary cards. They look so elegant!

For today's Quick Tip Tuesday, I'm demonstrating how to make "frames" to use on your cards, scrapbook pages, and collages. It's super easy and gives even more versatility to your dies when you mix and match them to use in this unique way. Take a look and give it a try. You'll be glad you did!
Here's the card I made using the Pale Papaya frame I made in the video above. I used the largest Scalloped Contour Die with the 3rd largest Stitched Rectangle Die. It's easy to mix and match dies and the possibilities are endless. Consider making frames of different sizes and widths or even different shapes of dies like circles.
